A Rich History of Learning
Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of cental Texas and at the base of the Santa Anna Peak, the Santa Anna Independent School District has been an integral part of our community since 1880.
What started as a single, one-room schoolhouse has blossomed into a network of modern campuses, reflecting our commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities for generations of students.
The first stone building consisted of four rooms – two upstairs and two down – at a cost of $4,000. In 1904, six rooms were added to the four rooms. Santa Anna was classified as a first class high school in 1911. A new grammar school building was erected in 1928 and a new high school building was built in 1930. By 1937, there wer students from 13 outside district in attendance at Santa Anna.
Santa Anna continues to serve the Santa Anna area from its two campuses: Santa Anna Elementary (PK-6) and Santa Anna Secondary (7-12)
Over the years, we've evolved, adapting to meet the changing needs of our students while preserving the core values that have made us a pillar of educational achievements.
