Mask Mandate Resolution

In the school board meeting held on April 19, 2021, the school board unanimously voted to pass a resolution to change our mask mandate in Santa Anna ISD.  The board releases teachers and students from the mask mandate requiring the wearing of masks at school.  Social distancing will remain in place.  For large indoor activities, mask-wearing will be encouraged.  COVID-19 quarantine guidelines remain in place, so if a student or teacher is exposed to a positive case, they will be quarantined for 10 days if they were not wearing a mask.  This is important, as students could potentially miss graduation ceremonies or other activities.  Mask wearing remains a personal choice and will be permitted at school.  For students, be sure not to target students or staff that choose to wear masks with poor behavior.  The superintendent is authorized to temporarily rescind the resolution in the event of changed conditions.  This resolution will become effective Monday, April 26th, 2021.  We hope our staff, students, and community remain diligent in social distancing, hand-washing, and communication of positive COVID-19 cases.  Please stay safe and we hope for a healthy end of the school year.
