Sixteen Participate in Houston Show

Sixteen Santa Anna FFA members traveled to Houston over the weekend for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Agriculture Mechanics show. The members represented all of Coleman County at the show as we were the only school to participate in the Agriculture Mechanics show. The students presented projects that they had constructed since school began this year or completed for students who began the projects last year and were unable to show them due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

Avery and Adalee Donham exhibited a Sheep Working Chute that was started prior to the shutdown and built for Bennie Bible. They received a Red Ribbon for their efforts.

Mykia and Nataani Richardson presented their Wood Drying Rack, which was constructed for their grandfather and won a Red Ribbon.

Chris Bobo, Dawson Rambo, and Trystan Rice constructed a Wood Drying Rack for Dwayne Richardson and got a Red Ribbon with their project.

Silas Lara and Jayton Rankin displayed their Cotton Seed Feeder they made for Shyler Farley and were presented a Red Ribbon.

Kali Corns, Jonathan Ceniceros, and Devon O'Leary finished a shop table they created for the Santa Anna ISD Ag Department. The shop table was awarded a Blue Ribbon.

Levi Daniel, Ryan Walker, Tatum Cantu and Austin Bruce fabricated a 6' by 12' utility trailer with removable motorcycle blocks for Coach Devanney. The trailer group earned a Blue Ribbon for their efforts.

Of the sixteen, 2 are graduating. The fourteen returning students are all excited to improve on their successes this year. They did a fantastic job representing Santa Anna FFA, Santa Anna ISD, and the entirety of Coleman County! If you are interested in having any agriculture related projects constructed by students, please contact Nathan Hindman, Ag Teacher at Santa Anna.
