Santa Anna ISD is working to create the safest environment for our students and staff. The School Board and Superintendent have been discussing pathways for our future that will continue to elevate our district in academics, engagement, and safety. One of the discussions includes mask protocols. We are currently working with health officials, lawyers, and other school districts to choose the best course for our schools. Following recommended health guidelines, we will continue our successful strategy of social distancing, washing hands, and wearing masks. As the number of vaccinations continue to rise and the positive tests for COVID-19 decline, we plan to review our protocols each month. We want to ensure our students can participate in events that were cancelled for the class of 2020. Prom, Ag banquets, and athletic banquets are just around the corner. The State has not changed the quarantine process, so without masks a positive case would mean students and staff would still go through the quarantine period, potentially missing instruction, athletic events, prom, banquets, and graduation. We will re-evaluate our protocols with COVID-19 in our April board meeting, consulting with health officials to provide a safe environment for students and staff.
