Good afternoon Santa Anna family:
Today we had reports from doctor’s offices of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in one of our SAISD families. The students and immediate family had already begun quarantine procedures, but we are also impacted in some of the classes the students had. Letters went home today for students that were directly in contact with the student that will place some of those students in a quarantine environment until their return on October 1st (6-8th grades) and high school students on a watch alert. This impacted multiple grade levels, with students in quarantine immediately beginning synchronous learning tomorrow simultaneously with live face to face instruction.
We will continue to utilize social distancing and wear masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but we would like to emphasize the importance of following safety protocols outside of the school. Our students have done an exceptional job of maintaining our mask wearing protocol at the high school. Our junior high and elementary are moving much closer to the target of 100% compliance.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we continue to serve our students in the best way possible under challenging times for our country.
