The varsity girls opened up district play against Rising Star on Tuesday. The girls struggled to find consistency on the offensive and defensive ends all evening, and came up short 48-37. Kloey Guerrero had 16 points and Madison Diaz finished with 10.
The Lady Mountaineers offered sparks of energy and did their best to get a run going in the later part of the game; but could not get enough momentum to go their way. They will participate in the Lohn tournament this weekend, as they continue to strive for success. It will be a good time for the girls to work on different aspects of the game which will prepare them for more district games next week.
The Santa Anna boys basketball team traveled to Lohn Tuesday night and ended pulling out the win. The mountaineers started the game with a 19-6 run in the 1st quarter.
